02 Procedure

How we deal with rats

We inspect inside and out to find activity, nesting areas and how the rats are getting in, including drains, air bricks and gaps around pipes.

  2. Step 02

    Treatment

We use tamper-resistant bait stations and traps placed where children, pets and wildlife cannot reach them, and explain any precautions before we start.

  3. Step 03

    Proofing

We seal entry points with materials rats cannot chew through and advise on anything else that is attracting them.

05 Questions

Rat control: common questions

Q.01Are rats dangerous?

Rats can spread diseases such as leptospirosis and salmonella, contaminate food and damage wiring, which can be a fire risk. They should be dealt with promptly.

Q.02How long does rat treatment take?

It depends on the size of the problem. Most domestic jobs need an initial visit plus one or more follow-up visits to check activity and complete proofing.

Q.03Can rats come up through the drains?

Yes. Damaged drains are a common entry point. We check for signs of drain activity and advise on repairs or fitting a non-return valve.
